Trouble getting insurance!!
What a nightmare I’ve had trying to get insurance for the 125 sh. Mode. RAC wouldn’t even give me a quote and a few others wanted £800 -£1100 laughable as I’ve only ever paid £100-£200 ... so what’s going on firstly they wanted to know if my shed had a concrete base ... ‘er no, it’s in my back garden, what difference does it make?’oh ! She said that means it goes down as on the driveway, sorry madam I said but it’s not on my driveway it’s in the shed in my locked back garden!! Secondly I’ve retired but I work at the local hospital 2/3 days a week ,as a porter emm she said so you park it in the staff car park... well yes I use a big chain and there’s cctv.so with no convictions, a clean license and doing 2000 miles a year .. the w*****s still wouldn’t touch me.Finally I rang Asda told them the shed had no concrete base , worked in local hospital...... £166.52 job done. So what are rac,and aa playing at

No idea. My Harley is with the RAC, kept on a private driveway (Kept in a locked garage actually, but I don't tell them that, ever.) £160 IIRC.

Good plan not to tell them. I did and possibly get £5.00 knocked off but if it's pinched from the drive or within 400m of my home, it's not covered!!!

These insurance companies never miss a chance to rip you off. Started my insurance year with a pan- european and a C90 on a multi- policy. Sold the pan-european and wanted to add 1980 Cb750k. “Sorry, can’t take those two on the same policy. Why? They just won’t”. The alternatives are all more expensive. Cancel and go elsewhere, insure separately or stay and insure just the C90. Where’s the logic in that?

Re: Trouble getting insurance!!
Sounds very similar to what happened to me last year. I renewed the insurance on the CB500/4 last September but although I'd already acquired the C90, I did not physically have it so could not add it to the policy. I had always asked for multi-bike since I went with "Bikewise" (Adrian Flux) many years earlier, it always being my intention to add a smaller bike to the fleet. A month later when I got the C90 home, I called them only to be told that the company they had put me with did not offer multi bike!!! I reminded them that I had, when renewing confirmed that it was a multi bike policy, the guy claimed that I had not..... I needed to take out a separate policy or cancel the one I'd just taken out (for a fee of course) and take out a new one. Neither being really acceptable, I just told them to insure the C90 stand-alone and I would change to a multi bike when the CB500/4 insurance expired. They asked for just over £20 more than for the CB500/4!!!! The reason, insurance costs have gone up IN ONE MONTH>????!!! I didn't think so but went ahead anyway as the sum (£145) was acceptable - just....Kod wrote: ↑Tue Jul 10, 2018 7:53 amThese insurance companies never miss a chance to rip you off. What I should have done, of course is what I will do in a month or so when the bigger bike insurance runs out. If they won't do what I ask I'll simply go elsewhere. I did record the above conversation, stored on the answering machine and marked so it cannot be erased (not that we use it anyway), so they will be seriously in error if they claim that I never wanted a multi bike policy...
Both bikes are insured only driver - although the missus does have a full bike licence, she hasn't ridden since 1976 (when she had a bad accident) and has never expressed any interest in riding again...… As I can only ride one at a time, multi bike is the only logical thing to go for.

Re: Trouble getting insurance!!
The rac would not even give me a quote, but I’ve had insurance before with them ((for the c90)the AA wanted £900 ... anyway I got Asda £166 and I told them the shed is not on a concrete base ( which means it’s logged as on drive way).... I’ve logged a complaint with AA so I’ll keep you in the loop. The main thing that’s unfair (imo) is that garage, driveway or road are the only 3 options... however some companies do include ‘shed’... anyway Ive been using AA for my partners insurance, the mother in law insurance and my mums insurance...so let’s see exactly how much they value me .... I’ve been told today they have a month to investigate...so let’s see... thanks all

My Innova was only £80. It depends so much on your postcode.
