Nice bikes, loving the old DT50M and the TS/ER. :)

First purchase for the C90 done :D

After looking through old forum posts I got one of Yvonne's Replacement Seat covers. Bought through the eBay shop.
Really happy with the quality and finish.

Likely I will not fit it straight away, and maybe wait until the mini-restoration time in 2018/2019.

So the C90 has sat in my shed for a year.

Time to get it roadworthy. Taken it to my dads so we can strip it on his workbench and sort out any issues. Fit new chain and sprockets too.

First isssue found, head damaged. The missing exhaust stud turns out the threads are damaged and material missing between the exhaust port and stud hole. We have some C70 and C50 parts. But these are all pre 1985 stuff.

From the FB group post, looks like we need to weld the damage and repair it.

I have been tempted by the 110cc Barrel/Head conversion for around £60 on eBay!

The 110 conversion may need the cases boring out. A110 Lifan engine would drop in withe the carb and exhaust from the Cub and give you everything new .
I use Berts for my MOTs you can book a time and get it done while you wait.

And the Southern Softies meet is here on the isle this year :D :D

Thanks for that, but that cut-out isn’t my issue.
Should be able to repair it though 👍

Thank you for that, I will aim to be on the road and join in the Southern Softies meet.

I will look the options for the engine, it’s no problem doing a bit of work to make it fit. Might be the cheapest option - plus give the bike a little more go.
Not sure if 35,000 Miles is a lot for these engine?but the 110 Lifan engine new looks around £200 delivered to the IoW.
I will do some more forum reading thanks

Thanks for the advice

Decision made, 110 Lifan 4spd semi auto will be ordered from Pitbike Spares on Monday morning.

I will still repair the C90 engine and it will be used in one of the old field/farm bikes.
