new with big ideas and an empty wallet
Hi all . had many bikes over the years moto x , enduro/green laners, track bikes , scooters ,sports etc . i currently have a ktm sx 85 in supermoto setup(2 stroke smell take me back to my childhood lol ) for track days and my work bike, vespa 300 gts.
i have been lurking about looking at various builds for a while and hopefully i can scrape some moneys together for a project over the winter .
I love the look of the various custom cub / street cub / what ever you want to call them . Id also like to build a green laner cub as i miss my enduro riding . Having two young kids empty your pockets very fast !
Anyways from what i have read the square headlight 12v are the easiest ones to start with so eventually i will be looking to grab one or 2 of those .
Is the 140 / 160 engine conversion pretty simple ? i wouldn't describe myself as a mechanic but I've changed variators and belts on peds , clutches on big bikes , swapped engines in pit bikes etc so i can mange the basics .
aAny links to enduro type builds would be greatly appreciated along with any other advice .
in the mean time i will continue lurking and data gathering !!
thanks

Welcome. Seems as if you have things sussed but 110cc will be a big enough upgrade.
Mark in your location. It helps.

The 110 comes either semi auto or manual.

Re: new with big ideas and an empty wallet
HI,
I have got a 140 in Miss Piggy but do think it makes the bike very over powered If you are into SPEED WOBBLES at 75 and front end lift coming out of tight corners {steering damper would help} .The brakes are not up to the job of stopping you at speed. The frame cant really handle it.
Having said all that today im off to OOR to Stick Miss Piggy on the dyno I will be putting in a 110 in the near future for normal use but to be honest a 140 dont half put a smile on your face, the looks you get when dragging away from lights is classic. So in essence what engine is really what floats your boat
Regards

I'll be honest that though I love my Cub with its original Honda motor like nothing else, if I was looking for a cheap off-roader I'd pick up a used Sinnis Apache.
Spares are cheap as chips plus they aren't too shabby reliability and quality wise.

Absolutely - Suzuki GS engine and some of the later models (still cheap) have a full stainless system as standard.
Pulse/Lexmoto Adrenaline is pretty much identical. Plastics on the Pulse model aren't quite so hot, ABS instead of polypropene if I remember right, which I probably don't!
