Hi there,

I've got a Rider Super Cub, which is now showing 2200km.
Having read the forum, I understand that the front brake shoes are not common with the C90.
What are the options for buying spare brake shoes? Has anyone found an equivalent on ebay?
Finally, how long do the shoes normally last?

Thanks
Based on the lack of performance, it should be indefinitely :)

Wahey!

I can touch 43mph on a good day :)

Bearing in mind all the roads between my house & work are 30mph, its not really a issue..

regards

Kevin

Is that all that yours will do?

MIne bimbles along at 50MPH with ease..I'd have expected the 50cc variant to get over 40MPH?

Ah, that's because the 50cc variant is sold as a "Moped" with a top "design" speed of 30mph, the fact it tops 40 is surprising enough!

Mmmm...

Guilty as charged m'lud...

I think its more to do with a shocking lack of any performance tuning bar iridium sparkplug ...

Still running on the original lean carb setting with the useless emission reduction thang in place .. valves untweaked..

And a rider not as streamlined as he used to be.. :D

Parp parp !

I was assuming that the Chinese "design" will not pay attention to actual details like the 30mph limit, simply say that's what it is.

My mates 1975 C50 back in the early 80's would show an indicated 50MPH on the flat, which was quicker than my FS1E!!!

What about down a hill with the wind behind you?

Mine will go off the clock and I'm not exactly ballet dancer material at nearly 16 stone and 6 feet.

So I pulled off the front wheel on my bike and they is plenty of "meat" left on the brake shoes.
Now my next project is to replace the head bearing as the steering has developed a notchy feel, that will not go away with adjustment.
I have ordered a bearing set for a C90 off ebay, fingers crossed it will fit :?

What sort of mileage have you done on your super cub now? The brakes are fairly crap, I'd expect the shoes to last forever 😇
