Innova comfort upgrades

Post by Father Paul » Wed Apr 19, 2017 8:25 pm

Hi

I'm on the plank (as it's known at the moment) a Honda innova 2004.

This thing is like sitting on a brick wall.

The seat, wow, if you're 8 stone it's probably ok.

Do the seats on newer ones get any better?

I think someone on here mentioned Honda cbf125 rear shocks... Do they make a marked difference?
Any other alternatives? (That I don't have to sell a kidney to afford)

Friend has an air hawk cushion which I'm on the lookout for one (if there's a good used one on eBay soon for a fair price)

Any other thoughts on modifying it?

All input appreciated

Go with a hawk, unless you want to raise the seat height

I've owned four innovas, carb n inj,,,,,, all seats weren't great, but you could cope with them, that thing of yours is bloody harsh.

I have a 2011 Innova and haven't noticed any problems with the seat. Mind you, I have spent many hours flying Ryanair.

I think I am the only one who has an Innova arse. I have ridden all over Denmark and Germany on mine without any problems. I find the screen to be invaluable and have added a 12v socket for my GPS.

How do you mount the GPS Steve?

I knew someone would ask that :O)

I will try and get out to take a photo at lunchtime. It is easier if you see it. But it involves a paint stirring stick, a small tube and some sticky backed plastic.

I use a Garmin Touring cycling GPS as I found my Garmin car GPS too big. I can also plot exact routes on my PC and download them to my Garmin Touring.

Photo to follow.

I have also remembered that I am telling you a load of rubbish.

I dragged my Innova out of the car port, where it has been parked since last September. I do have a mount on it for my TomTom. To make it I got one of these off ebay.

I took it to pieces and screwed a plastic plate onto it, drilled a hole and fastened it under the wing mirror. It looks odd but works fine. I could not find another way of mounting it other than using a suction cup to mount it on the speedo. That really doesnt work.

Photo to follow.

This is how I have set up the bracket for my TomTom and my Garmin Touring

It was pretty simple really. But it works.
