Ebay 1968 C90
If you genuinely wish to sell a bike I can't see the point of having a Buy it Now price of £2595 and a STARTING PRICE of £2500 !

Re: Ebay 1968 C90
Why? do you think this is a ridiculous price? what price would you sell it for....? Genuinely what would you sell it for if it was your bike....?
A 1968 c90 that is as close to new as you will ever see.. starting bid £1000..? £500? £1500? £1?
will be very interesting to hear your reply...???

I am not arguing with the price.
My belief is if you want £2595 for the bike, and you may well get it, what is the point of having a starting price of £2500?
Just have a straight Buy it Now or Make an Offer.

That's ok.. but what would you recommend the starting bid be and the buy it now...?
Its ok saying you think its a strange way to list a bike but how would you do it.. not having a go at all..

If you are familiar with ebay then you will know that you have a choice of formats when selling.LEMONHEAD wrote:It is a auction you know... its Not a fixed price or classified...
You can just have a Starting Price or a Starting Price and Buy it Now together (as the above seller).
A Starting Price is normally a low, enticing price to drum up a bit of interest and get the bidding going. This would be more like a proper auction.
You can also just have a Buy it Now price or a Buy it Now and a Make an Offer "addition".
Now, if you have a STARTING PRICE of £2500 and a Buy it Now price of £2595 I wonder what is the point of having the b****y Starting Price. Quite simply just have a Buy it Now price of £2500! There's only £95 difference. What is the point?
If you are adamant that "this is an auction" and not a fixed price sale then I would suggest that this is hardly an auction.
Nevertheless, you are right to express your views and contribute to the conjecture of this fine forum. Better that than not say anything.
You are right, it is a fine bike and deserves to sell. I am following this "auction" with great interest.

Re: Ebay 1968 C90
Just been checking on Ebay rules. Once a bid has been received, say at £2500,
then the "buy it now" option is no longer available and the auction runs to the end and the highest bid wins.
So you could win with the first bid or there might be a bidding war and then the sky's the limit.

I think he 'upped' the price. £20,0000! Unsurprisingly it's not available anymore.
