7 years old 1st time riding a Cub

Post by Mark8290zz » Thu Feb 19, 2015 9:36 pm

First time I rode a Cub I was about 7 or 8. My older bro had a Cub 90 and I always begged him for a go in our garden. I did have a Yamaha QT50 moped at the time (our step Dad got us into motorbiking from a young age)
One day I begged him so much that he gave in and gave me a 1 on 1 tuition on how to ride plags.
I got on the bike, ignored everything I was taught and whacked it into gear already with a few revs. The bike wheelied like mad with me still hanging on to the handle bars, god knows how I handled it but I did, (kind of) but cos I was hanging on only made me rev more so the bike and I were going mad all over the garden, straight over my Mums flowers, wrecked the garden, wrecked the rockery then crashed straight into the house.
My brothers C90 was ok but I was in pain and my Mum was livid.
I will never forget that Significant motorbiking event in my lifetime.

I rode my first bike when i was around 13. It was a yellow C70. I done a weeks work in the school summer holiday for a bloke sorting scrap metal in return for the C70.

I used to go to school on an old c70 when I was 14

lived in a rural area, dad was a farmer... over 3 miles away from school, so couldn't get the school bus,
there were no other buses, so my dad sorted it with school that I came via the fields to school on my clunk, :D
as long as I parked it around the back and gave the lock key to the teacher during school hours,,,,

quite often the muddiest kid in school

First time I rode a Cub was when I bought my C100 in around 2007. First bike was probably at 15...1973, A James Captain field bike, to be followed by a bunch of 50p mopeds and £25 Greeves 250 MX'ers.

First auto clutch bike I rode was a CZ 125....

Didn't see many cubs in Devon, plenty of 'bigger' Brit stuff though, Bantams, Arrows, C15's Starfires, that kind of thing.

I was about 7 or 8 when me and my brother had our first bike. It was a elephant grey C50. It got serious abuse until a broken gearbox ended our fun.

You've obviously not changed much over the years then
