It was me... Just reminds me of days with my mates in the early 80's. That one's a minter. Obscene amount of money though.

I had 2, big step up from my GP125 i had, but honestly never again! True 100mph, but some design flaws....front end way too light, Left pot runs weak, and the far left main bearing only gets mist lubrication. I did hammer mine as you do when you're 17, it was always the left hand big-end gave up first, i think most i ever got out of a crankshaft was 4000 miles.....it was FUN though, my first speed machine! Always had a spare C50/70/90 kicking round though 'just in case' ;)

My first bike was a brand new T reg blue X7. I paid £750 on the road for it in Feb 1979.
All my mates had RD 250s and wanted to ride my bike all the time.

Far more exciting than the RD rockrob and much faster/lighter, and far more fragile sadly.....that was the payoff, Yamaha knew how to build the tougher 2 strokes, Suzuki did do better with the RG250 which was the LC version of the X7 but too little and too late, and never a 350 version......, the RG500 i think killed everybody who ever owned one, as did the YPVS Yam 500, just widowmakers/ditchfinders...mental :(
