Thanks for the advice, I got 'em off- they're messy but still serviceable. The head looks ok, someone must have changed the oil at some point, although the valves are still in. Any ideas on where to get some genuine rings?

For Genuine rings either your local Honda dealers, or if you want to do it via mail order, try David Silver spares. That's where I get most of my genuine parts from. If it's not in stock they'll still get it to you within five days or so.

I've just been down this route myself. I needed new rings. I also thought it prudent to change the small end gudgeon pin and circlips as I've fitted a new crank. Dealer price on this was £28. You can get all the above with a new piston for about £29 inc postage off evilbay. What put me off doing so was all the pictures showed a piston with only two rings, and I thought I'd be giving up the oil control ring. When it arrived it was the same as the original, so I advise this route. Though I've not run it yet, to be fair.Rico wrote:Thanks for the advice, I got 'em off- they're messy but still serviceable.
