Latest discovery is that there is a very harsh speed limiter which effectively cuts out the engine at 50 mph. This is apparently a Euro 5 thing and not a rev. limiter. I'll know more when I have changed the gearing and installed a rev counter but in the present state I regard this as dangerous in any dual carriageway situation with following traffic and busy lanes. Its got to be fixed!
I’d be a bit sceptical about it being a euro 5 thing because my Euro 5 125cc bike is not similarly effected, neither am I aware of any of my friends Euro 5 compliant 125cc bikes being affected.

Happy if anyone can correct me otherwise though.

Maybe is it’s a limiter to restrict (sorry) the possibility of engine breakage through continuous high speed running. It is what it is in fairness.

I never had a Monkey ... I would love one now. But alas it'll never happen. The Cub is too much for my knees and hips so I guess the Monkey would be even worse.

The Grom is probably the best one to try for size. I found it to be very comfortable and easy to handle.

Try something with more forward controls RE Meteor & lower seat height easier on hips for leg over low down weight or a proper flat floor under one such as a Honda Vision

Lots of SH examples to test ride

I found the riding position and the seat more comfortable on the first generation Grom than our 2nd gen Grom, even with a modified seat (step removed),but the new monkey seat is super plush.
This current Grom looks very similar seat wise to the gen1 OG from.

I have a Bullit Heritage 50, a rebadged Skymax.
Started off as E4, now running carb and a 72cc kit having removed all the EFI electronics, as I have no faith in their longevity!
Struggled to do 20mph when I bought it, but, I am a lard ass, now sits at 40 on the flat.
Briefly fitted a YX125 big valve motor, had tons of low down grunt, but didn't like being revved.
Couldn't afford a Cub 50 at the time, and always wanted a Dax having had Monkeys, Chalys and other minibikes before.
I wouldn't recommend the E4/5 versions, and in hindsight, should have bought a carb version.
