I admire and often fancy a monkey, loved me MSX, when insuring me cg 125 recently MCE had me pants down saying 125's are high risk for theft. How do Monkeys fare with insurance companys????

Indeed 125's are expensive to insure. I had a brief crush on the new Suzuki GSX S125, however as a returning motorcyclist with no NCB the cheapest quote I got was £225, whereas a new Suzuki SV650 was just £110 to insure. With full NCB the difference is much closer for me, but the 125 was still more expensive to insure than the 650.

Just noticed the Gromlins UK forum is no longer there, guessing the owner pulled the plug due to lack of activity.

There's so much more to running a forum than just starting it.

It takes real nous, money, and in depth knowledge to deal with complications that arise.

'Free' hosting is a waste of time. If you enjoy any success, you'll exceed your size or bandwirth, and it will either get expensive or the plug will be pulled.

Problems arise, and you need to know how to interpret the server logs, so you can go to your ISP and ask for a solution.

I have none of these skills, and if it was my responsibility the forum would have been extinct years ago. aliengravy is the philanthropist who pays, and keeps it all tickety boo.

When our server got hacked, I see him do a 24+ hour stint, going through every file, looking for backdoor code installed by hackers. This is now why we run with no add on's, like Tappatalk. You cannot trust them!

Me too, I miss a good Monkey bike forum, Facebook is more just a instant chat platform in comparison.
