Seeing has i dont actually have a back brake pedal as yet it seems a good idea.
Anyone going to help me out here please
There's lots of different ways to do it Fazey.
If you look at the pic of my bike you'll about see what I did.
Basically I used the original rear brake rod, but turned the drum lever to point upwards instead of down.
Made an anchor point for the cable at the engine mounting bolt and used a C90 front brake cable to connect it all up.
Has worked fine for me so far!

If you chop the bent end off the brake rod and put a thread on it, you can connect it to the threaded end of the brake cable with a long-nut.......
Thats the easiest way.

Rear brake is easy to sort. Buy a rear brake cable off a scooter and a pair of motorcycle levers (all available on flee bay) levers about £12, cable the same.
Cable I purchased is 1800mm long ish, still a touch too long but shortest I could find. Make a cable stop from a piece of 90 deg angle (nice and strong!) and fix it to the rear brake torque arm in the correct place. Just drill a hole in the torque arm and bolt to it. Ditch the old rear pedal and metal rod route the cable job done!
I put a front brake arm (the bit the cable attaches too on the spline) on the rear as its longer than the standard rear therefore more leverage, because yer foot is stronger than the left hand pulling the brake. I have never been out braked into a corner!!

I like the idea of the additional front shocks, what are they off? and more importantly, do they do any good?

Yes you can Blinkey ,and to Timvmax they make a big difference when your on the track ,people have used various methods to stiffen the front end you are best to look at previous pictures from the other plop races .

I've invited the father in law to mallory...the wife thinks I'm just being a great hubby. However I didn't get one photo of me from Anglesey and he's a mad keen photographer. Needs must eh.
