I can see an extra 60 watts that could be freed up.

Has anyone changed the internal gearing. I dropped to a rear 36 (standard 15 up front) and whilst it was a very useful 2nd gear for slow corners around a wet Mondello there was just too big a gap to third and we were losing out on acceleration in 3rd gear. We (Team Black n Blue) finished 11th out of 44 overall and 6th in the standard 90 class. I reckon if we had a closer ratio between 2nd and 3rd it would a move us up a few places whilst still retaining the 3 speed semi auto needed tonstay in the rules.

Our engine's just finishing being rebuilt with its new sandcast magnesium cases, which should, along with the carbon fibre seat, legshields, wheel spokes and fuel tank, make it a fair bit lighter, although i haven't weighed it yet. As the rules specify standard carbs and an unmodified manifold, we've fabricated an extra kind of candlestick holder type manifold to put on top of our normal one, which will allow us to run 4 standard carbs at the same time. Our first couple of dyno runs aren't exactly superbike levels but 37hp at the wheel is pretty good going, i think. The only regret is not getting a slightly wilder grind on the titanium cam. Other than that, we're good to go, see you at Mallory!

Some of this may not be true, including the bit about us being good to go.

Sorry Mr G, I dont want to see a grown man cry, And teams to give up before the race has not even started,
It just wont be fair to give out performance figures that other teams have no way to achieve . :D ;) ;)
