Re: Munch motorcycles....
ok on yank roads and auto barn. but i bet its flickabily round rown or tight country lanes is awfull. dead good on the engineering front. look up some of the lads on ratbike zone. car engines in bikes. BUT BY MEN IN SHEDS. the traditional. BRITISH WAY. not some factory, that is pressuring thier government to ban others from biulding there own, like boom trike, they are the same. might look great, but a threat to our way of life.

Munchs were originally built in sheds by men too! The traditional German way.dread wrote: BUT BY MEN IN SHEDS. the traditional. BRITISH WAY.
(I love how they used an NSU 1200 headlamp surround, as a hint to what's powering it! )
Not bad for the size apparently. Good geometry.. Not Harley style just for straight lines.dread wrote:ok on yank roads and auto barn. but i bet its flickabily round rown or tight country lanes is awfull
....all in all though, I think I'd like to own that lovely engine in its rightful home!

Re: Munch motorcycles....
^ I was wondering what that modern Munch is powered by, as the NSU engines have been out of production for 40 years.
If anybody else was wondering, it's a Cosworth! http://www.motorcyclespecs.co.za/model/ ... h_2000.htm

Re: Munch motorcycles....
It is. Not sure any bikes had discs so early? (1966) I think the cast alloy rear wheel was unique at the time. Spokes wouldn't handle the torque!Black Sheep Radical wrote:Is that really a drum brake on the front?

That front drum is HUUUGE!! I think the front spokes are just an afterthought as insulators to stop the inner tube bursting through heat!!Boo wrote:It is. Not sure any bikes had discs so early? Re: Munch motorcycles....
The only reason it had alloys on the back was due to engines power and torque just ripped the spokes up
