Wow, that's a great find. Unlike herrod I would like to ride it, might be a bit strange cus wood has a certain flex to it! Not much rust to worry about but rot could be a concern :?

this wooden bike reminds me of the cars many years ago. it was common for cars to have a wooden chassis. wood was used as a structual component in cars right up to the 1970's. i would think everyone on the forum has seen a MORRIS MINOE Traveller. the wood on the rear was actually structual and held the metal bodywork together. if you ever intend to buy one and the wood is varnished with very dark varnish or even painted then walk away as the wood is most likely rotten and full of filler. rotton wood MUST be replaced. a lot of older coaches and buses also used wood for the framework of the body.
the most common type of wood that was used was ASH which isa fairly flexible hard wood
