New toy blackbird
Been touring on the superdream ,but splashed out on a cbr1100xx blackbird and Krauser panniers
Only rode it home ,in the sleet ! ,need to get a spare key and go over it before trying it out properly
They are cheap ,i guess sports tourers are old hat these days what with everyone wanting adventure bikes.
The bar risers help but the legs are a but cramped ,will see how it goes ,if not may px it for a cbf1000

Re: New toy blackbird
Had two cbf1000's, both mk2's.
Went round Portugal/Andalucia in 2022 on the last one then sold it.
They are very good bikes but, for me, they were aging a bit and a tiny bit basic and budget. I much preferred my cb1300 that I went around Spain on three years previously as it had much more grunt and was very comfortable.

Re: New toy blackbird
Couple of things put me off the cbf ,the finish as per all newer hondas ,not as good as the earlier bikes/the bird has 38k but looks really tidy ,and the engine was supposedly a little bland too not that I've ridden one
The 1300 does look good,.use admit I missed those as I thought they were all naked versions only just looked them up they look cool ,I guess they dp luggage for them

All I needed was a top box and a bag on the pillion seat, for touring......

Re: New toy blackbird
I had a MK1 CBF1000. The stator was a bugger (a known problem) and it ran hot but never actually let me down. Was a bit soft for my liking but the engine was a gem.
I really wish Honda would bring back the Blackbird.
That NT1100 is awful.

Re: New toy blackbird
Around 11 years ago I had the forerunner to the Blackbird, a CBR1000F “Hurricane.”
Turbine-like power, adequate handling and as reliable as a stone doorstep. The Blackbird was an improvement in pretty much every aspect, too.
Enjoy!

Re: New toy blackbird
Had a blackbird , I thought it was superb , gobbled up miles without breaking into a sweat.. I had troubles with cramp in my nether regions so changed the saddle .. had to sell it as it was going to kill myself it was so smooth I kept bimbling around at mad speeds without really noticing

Never heard of the hurricane b4
Must admit it might be too quick for our roads these days ,even have trouble keeping to the limits on the superdream !
