and not even seeing one yet,i have 3 hunters in grey,which one was a demo,so which just had to ride,very nice you can feel it working,which is good,as for a long stroke and slow revving engine,it does like to rev,which i did did about 12 miles,came back ,was smileing,would i buy one,yes but not yet,

I've made a few posts recently asking about the new C125 that I was interested in buying new resulting in some good helpful replies from the forum. In the end I haven't bought a C125 but a Royal Enfield.
I know some reading will probably think how can the C125 & Enfield even be compared? Well on my needs list they both tick lots of boxes, but in the end the Enfield was slightly more appealing for what I need. I struggled with the idea of having keyless ignition on the cub (though I accept it's generally no problem) & my local Honda dealer showed zero interest in selling me one, I got the impression it would take me going in on bended knees & begging..... I still really like the C125 thought, brilliant bike!
So a Royal Enfield Hunter it's ended up being, picked up yesterday & started running in on a 200km jaunt.... So far so good though it's a bit tedious taking it steady. Super torque & lovely sound.
It's probably going to be a bit more involved with maintenance & possibly repair but I guess time will tell.
Anyway, thanks to all who replied to my questions, take care.

I bet you’ll have to put a bit more fuel in it than a C125.

Bailey nice choice.
Lots of DIY videos on the RE and as it's all built for the Asian market so pretty simple mechanics.
Running in is a ball **** but I used the eco meter as my guide rather than keep starring at the clock in a paranoid fashion.
The 300 mile service soon comes round.
I gave up on the guidance after that and rode real world speeds as traffic here moves faster than Bombay/Deli/Chennai
Hitchcock's seem to be the spares supplier of choice though lots of folk gamble on buying direct from India with mixed results.
There's a good American based RE owners club forum worth signing up to (& from your backdrop that's your home turf anyway)
The tank was about £15 to fill up iirc & does 150 mile range

Thanks for the tips. I've been just listening to the engine for running in, not reving & not lugging, the Eco sign hasn't ever gone off! As for location, I'm originally from the north of England but been in the Malaga area (where the dealer is) southern Spain since 95. Whenever I see California on TV it looks the same!

may be but the hunter will go lots of miles further,
and as for a carrier and top-box,e-mailed hitchcocks,they replyed with a link to both items,givi and givi top-box they do.and it looks nice in grey.

I went the wrong way with luggage, £140 for Givi pannier frames and £169 for each Pannier soft box, the Indian made Rack is not strong enough to surport a monolock box. Fitting the luggage, I need to fit the Hitchcock lifting handle.
A Givi rack looks better made.
I still love the bike and quality is better than my Italian built CB125F.
