C125 SuperCub Chain

Post by 125erCrazy » Sat Nov 12, 2022 3:21 pm

Just me or are the current run of SuperCub nuts & fasteners made of chocolate.

Having read the owners manuel I'm shocked to see that current Honda service policy is filter change every 8000 miles on Cub/PCX (not checked other models yet) So Ive asked Honda if esp tech' is that good oil doesnt contaminate in the 99% of city traffic useage most will endure or is the plan for them to be scrap by 2030's deadline

And so my question... anyone know the spec for the 2021 C125 SuperCub chain as my oem is shot with to many tight spots & ebay doesnt list many

Does anyone have a C125 PDF service manuel or know where one can be bought please?

Wemoto list a couple of DID chains just standard ones but from under £16, so a service item, it is a 420 chain so other specs may be available.

I cant help with the spec but the rest is probably a discussion worth a separate post or section in itself.
Our company van a VW apparently has oil good enough for use for about 30K with an oil and filter change at that point.
We needed a replacement clutch at about 80K and asked for the gearbox oil to be changed at the same time.
No need apparently it's good for the life of the vehicle
Ten years use then it's into the scrappers i assume.

On a totally separate note we have been replacing big industrial motors on the machines i work with day to day for the past five years.
The motors we replace have leaking oil seals or have rotted away due to chemicals in there environment but are still actually working.
The original motors had worked faultlessly for over twenty five years.
We are already replacing the replacements after five years for electrical or mechanical failures.
Same manufacturing company but allegedly not inferior parts
SEW if i'm allowed to name and shame but hopefully no repercussions on this site.
I'm seeing it every where i go
Apologies for the rant :D

Same here. Diesel to clean the chain and gear oil for the lubrication after. I never seemed to have premature wear problems with that combo.
