C125 SuperCub Screen

Post by 125erCrazy » Sun Nov 06, 2022 10:06 pm

Anybody know of a 'rigid' perspex screen for the Supercub like the one mentioned in 'screen innova 2006' and reply by John S

I bought one also ftom ebay but its no longer available and buy similair has resulted in flimsy 'Rolf Harris' wobble boards (oh matron) being delivered.

Puig are £50/60 but I dont want to spend that much as Im not 100% sure It will work with mirrior extenders, phone mounts etc

Fitting my existing one is a nono as its 600 miles away at present

I don't know if it's relevant but I bought one of the £10 flimsy wobble board screens a few years ago, and it broke eventually.

I retained the fittings (which are pretty good) and had a local company, cutmyplastic, make me a screen in 3mm polycarbonate.

I can't claim it as an original idea as bikerbaker suggested it. It has worked out nicely, though.

Come to an agreement with seller (after ebays intervention) & he's offered me 50% of the purchase price back & I get to keep the damaged screen as I stated I wasnt prepared to foot postage.

Very odd for an English based seller whose Nottingham business address comes up as a nearly that number in a residential street on street view  & the message grammer is slightly off.

Not holding my breath about the refund especially once the case closed date expires but its keeping me entertained

Well got my 50% refund so can live with scratch or practice cutting it down either way brackets are worth the £6 I've spent.

However bought a Puig on sale now so will keep the chinese wobble board lock up shelf discovery for a rainy day

A bit of a random tangent, here.

I had a Puig screen on my W800 for Winter months for 2 years.

One day, without warning, it sort of exploded on the A27. Nothing hit it, there were no signs of stress, nor any clues on the bits that remained attached to the bike. It just disintegrated with a bang, leaving two large plastic spikes attached to the mounts.

I didn't buy a replacement.

C125 Breather

Post by 125erCrazy » Mon Jan 02, 2023 12:57 pm

OK folks during yesterdays inspecrion I noticed the crank case breather had liquid in it.

First light this morning I removed said breather and tipped out water?

There is no thinning of engine oil or 'mayonaise' sludge so Im thinking air filter inspection next shout as in the past commuting on the A13 which regularly flooded the air filters got soggy & in light of the recent weather

Anyone else any ideas please

Condensation, take it for a good ride out and get it hot and bothered  , soggy air filter will cause very poor running.

By all means check the air filter for wetness to satisfy your curiosity. But as said, generally a wet filter will cause poor running.
You've already checked for oil emulsification (yes I just swallowed a dictionary!) 😀😀
So will imagine same...... condensation from crankcase due to cold damp weather.
Andy.
