BHP looks low for a 125 :(

Very low! 8.7 PS (9 bhp essentially) is equivalent to pre-Euro 4 Chinese 125 auto scooters.

The air cooled £1700 Euro 5 Sinnis Shuttle now has a (claimed) 12 bhp. The air cooled Piaggio 125 Liberty a (probably more honest) 11.3 bhp

I like the styling, though. 8-)

October not the best time of year to launch a new machine (read Asian stock) but if plentiful in supply Im sure the delivery bike market will take the bulk.
It looks more like it's looking to compete with Yamaha's D'elight 125. Low power, small wheel, trad-ish styling.

Possibly no bad thing. The D'elight looks weedy and tiny on paper. To ride, they're a peach. 8-)

You don't see the delivery riders using 'em, though.
The engine power is an interesting one for me. I noticed that it’s the same with the Yamaha delight 125, not very much for a 125, but when you look closer at the specs you see what’s going on. I’m guessing both the Yamaha and the new Suzuki are taking aim at the ever so popular Honda Vision 110 which appears to go from strength to strength. If you look at the Suzuki engine it’s gone long stroke as they all have but the interesting thing is it makes the power much lower down the rev range than before. That being said, the BHP will always be down when the peak figure is at just 6250rpm! So as with many of the Honda models, Suzuki have basically upped the CC’s a little, raised the compression ratio and lowered the fuel consumption to make it through the euro 5 restrictions. That’s why I’m still keeping an eye on the Suzuki as I reckon it would ride really well despite the lower bhp figure. It does produce more torque than the Vision 110 at 10 nm. Only 1 nm more I know but that’s effectively 11% more.
Since I switched out my Vision 110 engine after 19300 very hard miles, I’ve been riding the Vision differently. I now take it easier and ride as intended in the 40-50mph range rather than killing it for all it has and I’m starting to enjoy the ride home again. Let’s see the accessories support the Suzuki gets and maybe, if Givi do a riot shield screen, just maybe I’ll go for one as I think it could be a winner! My only concern is the small 10” rear wheel and fairly skinny tyres compared to say, the Sym Fiddle. The ride quality may not be up to much but for £2.5k new what is?

I commute on my Vision and agree 40-50mph is a sweet spot for the 110 engine, and on my route, fast enough. (unless I'm dying for a poo). :P

Cheers Scootyman/horobags

Honda are currentley doing the Vision for £49 a month on PCP & for the amount of time it would spend idle the 4K mileage limit seems fair.

The PCX was reasonable as well but for long periods laid up air cooled is the way forward IMO

I will look at the new address as its sensible money but NM 110 is doing great service and as a new model inbound service consumables are really cheap, I just bought 12 HiFlo filters for £1.72 each including postage so used in conjunction with my oem ones Im good for 30K+

I suspect that the review will appear online very soon, but for now it's in the paper.

They also like it. 8-)
