Iv'e had a couple, what an engine, Honda tuned the ex-blade engine perfectly, just keep an eye on the speedo, .Silky smooth torquey power delivery and lots of luggage options available for it. Great choice Jim.

Yes mate, it's like nothing I've ever ridden before. Not so much a choice, as always being on the lookout for a bargain.
It's everything you said. it's a bit car like, and it's very heavy. I didn't realise how heavy until I moved the Moto Guzzi and that was like moving the Cub in comparison!
It's not cosmetically fab but only 28k miles. Seems to have been looked after. I got the full clip on luggage with lots of spare keys too.

Billyfix and I are both on our second cbf1000.
One of the best sports tourers out there, particularly with the hard luggage.
Honda reliability and all the power you'll ever need.
Low seat height is a godsend.

Which brings me to my current problem. In my garage sits a 2006 CBF 1000 in blue with only 14,000 miles on the clock. It currently sits there for 364 days of the year, the outing being it’s MOT and even that hasn’t happened this year. I have a genuine Honda stator upgrade waiting to be fitted when I get round to it along with a new chain and sprocket kit. I fully intended on keeping it BUT….I just don’t use it and don’t see myself touring on it for at least another 7-8 years until my little one is older. By that time it’ll be getting on for 22-23 years old and I might not be well enough to ride it by then.
The big question is, how did you feel when you sold your first CBF1000? Am I going to instantly regret it? Maybe something smaller that I would use more would be a better bet?

Having drooled over a CBX 1000 yesterday and seeing the prices they fetch today I'd keep it, however in 7/8 years time the tree hugging, liberal twats in charge will probably have you stoned to death for damaging the environment if you started it up

I've done bikes with the heated seats, change suspension settings on the wire, stereo radios, rain modes, electric screens, etc. They're alright but I didn't need them.
As you know, the cbf has a detuned Fireblade engine. It'll last a long time with regular services.
I've fitted Oxford heated grips and an aftermarket exhaust. If there's one thing I could improve would be the headlight which is average and Cruise Control would be nice but not essential.
The mk2 from 2012 also has linked brakes and I believe stator problems are rare.
