The R/E Hunter is a grand less than a new Yamaha 125 retro, no brainer.

Re: The CB125F 2021-on topic
I'd be interested to know what you've getting out of both bikes mpg wise?
At the moment I'm looking into a new bike, it'll be my first "new" bike ever despite owning about thirty bikes previously...
I started a thread about the C125 in the C90 sub forum as that is one of the bikes on my list, the other two being a CB125F & the RE Hunter.
My heart says Hunter or C125, my head says CB125F because of price & its (allegedly) amazing fuel economy, if it's mpg is to be believed surely it's going to overtake the Super Cub which usually tops the most fuel efficient bike lists.
When looking at "real world" MPG figures folks are getting, it amazes me to see Hunter owners & other J series engined R.Es getting +/- 90mpg, and CB125f (& CBF125) owners usually claming around 130mpg.
That's why I'm curious as to your findings, half the amount seems extreme? Do you find the Hunter poor or the CBF really good? Or a bit of both?

Re: The CB125F 2021-on topic
I don't bother to keep records on fuel economy as I have many different styles of riding depending on road conditions in Kent, the range meter of the CB125F shows about 450 miles left in the tank once it starts working (it only works when the maximun bar on the gauge has gone out about 100 miles). The tank holds 13 litres. The Hunter uses about the same fuel as my NC750S DCT.

Thanks dmw1950.
If the CB25Fs fuel meter shows 450miles with 100 already gone (assuming that's accurate) that'll be 550 miles to the 13lt tanks or..... 42 miles per litre, or.. drum roll..... 190mpg.....
Maybe lots of variables there but even if it's a bit off it does seem that folks are getting some pretty amazing mpgs off these little bikes as in this thread, helped by Honda's eSP, extra sensory perception ..... electronic stability program..... or something...

You can’t rely on fuel meters, computers,to be accurate. The one on my Golf says 200 miles left when actually I’m lucky to get half that.

Re: The CB125F 2021-on topic
I hope the following mpg stats taken during 6,000 miles that I have ridden on my 2022 Honda CB125F help.
The bikes computer does exaggerate its excellent mpg - at the last fill it suggested it was doing 186 mpg but calculations based on miles covered divided by litres used and multiplied by 4.54 to give gallons was 145 mpg.
The best it has achieved was 207 mpg on a leisurely ride from Kent to the new Forest and back, worst was 138 mpg during running in
a huge benefit is that I only fill it every 450-550 miles and yes it does take 14 litres plus if you persevere.
over 14 fills this is the actual mpg it has achieved;
165.56
137.71
174.10
157.46
152.34
175.83
166.95
196.36
207.72
163.62
142.67
149.73
144.89

Those figures seem to be too good to be true.
The only accurate way,and it’s not even 100%,is to fill the tank full, note the mileage, fill the tank full again when needed to the same level and note the mileage again. Then calculate mpg.

It sounds like pete07bikes has used that method, and achieved the results he posted.
They confirm the experience of other owners, so whatever they seem is irrelevant.
