ANF Innova 125 new rider questions.
Evening all,
Had a C90 as a teen and wanted something similar but modernised, so picked up a 2009 Honda ANF Innova 125 to use for work commuting (24 miles per day / 12 miles each way).
I was using a PCX125 prior to this which reliably hit 60mph and could handle itself 'relatively' comfortably on the dual carriageway - however, I'm noticing that the Innova 125 doesn't seem to want to push more than 50mph on flats and thus I wouldn't be comfortable taking it on the main roads at this speed - is this normal? I'm not a big guy - mere 5'8, 11.5 stone, so doubt I'm slowing the bike down significantly!
I was hoping for a higher top speed but the innova seems kind of underpowered compared to other 125's - am I doing something wrong or missing a trick with the handling?

Re: ANF Innova 125 new rider questions.
Greetings Innova , your bike should pull better than 50mph on the flat cause i am a couple of pounds heavier and used to do some motorways on mine fully laden ! !
Start by checking the obvious oil , tyre pressure ,plug ,air filter , valve clearance , good chain and lubed , the standard sprockets are 17 front 35 rear and are i think best left alone .
Mine would hold 65ish but was happiest @ 55ish and sit there all day .The only problem i had was the rear sprocket bearing failing @ 20k miles and that would hold your speed down .
Cheers Vk. .

Cheers VK, I will take a look at the points you've mentioned!
It has just come fresh from the dealer and supposedly fully serviced with 9,000 miles on the clock. I can see from the paperwork that when this bike was serviced in 2018, there was a 15 tooth front sprocket fitted. Wonder if that's changed anything? It's not been used much since it's 2018 service, going by mileage.

Sorry VK, meant to ask as well - do you or any of the esteemed ladies and gents on this forum know of a windshield model and top box / rack and panniers that are compatible with the Honda ANF 125 Innova? I'm having a right bugger of a time finding bits & bobs that are sold within the UK and verified as fitting this bike!

Make sure, as VK says, it's running the standard gearing. If not change it back to standard. Is it an injected model or Carb?innova wrote: ↑Sun Oct 18, 2020 3:11 pmCheers VK, I will take a look at the points you've mentioned!

Puig make a good screen, Its a universal one for small bikes. I would put the gearing back to standard, my Innova will run at 65mph on the straight, but it is best kept down to 55mph to preserve the engine.

2009 should be an injection engine ,came in in 2007 ,the standard sprockets are 14 /35 so 15 is plus 1 . A lot of folks say the 4th gear is a bit like an overdrive so a lower gear (14 teeth) may help with top speed .

Re: ANF Innova 125 new rider questions.
Just been looking on Wemoto.com and i must be losing it old age perhaps ! ! standard is 14 tooth front 35 tooth rear so in theory your bike should pull better in 3rd gear with 4th like an overdrive for downhill ?
Any way get them back to standard and take it from there , the racks and screen are getting thin on the ground but Brooksbarn have a universal smoke puig screen on ebay .
Ps; where about's are you pop it in your profile .
Cheers Vk. .
