Honda Innova 1st view....

Just done 2 days of commuting on the Innova i bought, I paid £500 for it from a mate with no MOT and a rattly camchain. I got Tyres for £20 from Horobags (cheers) a cam chain from Greece £8, a gasket kit £8, the correct flywheel tool £14 and fitted a standard chain guard £14,
This means that including the MOT it owes me just short of £600.
The camchain took about 2 hours to do and its really sweet sounding now. The tyres are the standard fair that it came with, Dunlop tt900's.
After doing a proper calculation based on google maps and the amount of fuel I put in over a few trips, its averaging 156mpg, this is me sitting at 50mph. I'm not very heavy so that'll have helped.
Compared to a Cub???? Not as much fun and nowhere near the character but I wouldn't have found a useable tidy Cub for anywhere near 600 quid...
Pretty pleased and it'll save me about 150 quid a month in fuel costs.
Just need to sort luggage out now.

Bought my Innova at the end of May when my C90 was stolen, I paid £795 for a 2007 carb model in good condition. Your right that it's not got that Cub character or charm & for me, it will never replace how I felt when riding my C90. But in the Innova's defense the extra gear & 40cc more power does make it a great little bike to own and ride, and hitting 50 mph or more is nice for those nights when you want to get home quickly.

And the lights/brakes are good enough to do 50 in the dark.😁

True I've only rode home once in the dark, but the headlight on the Innova was better.

My commute involves a good bit of narrow dark country lanes that are still frequented by HGVs.
There are some parts that require a complete closing of the throttle in the winter rain and wind especially at night.
I'll be installing a decent LED bar before the winter as the lights still go ultra dim on tickover.
Still a great little bike though.
