Innova fuel container

Post by LudetheDude » Sun Jul 22, 2018 5:51 pm

Hi guys,
I'm shopping for a fuels container to put in the underseat storage of my Innova. I saw a photo of a lovely looking round red plastic container that fitted a treat. However, this was on the German forums and I can't seem to locate it now. Does any one know of it? ...otherwise, does anyone know of a suitable fuel container to use? I think a three liter plastic container with the right dimensions would fit.
Look forward to hearing any opinions you might have,
Lud

I saw a 3litre square container with built in spout in Super U supermarket in Arnage should have bought some. :( ..they even stack on top of each other .
Must have a quick trip to France to find some more .

Got no idea of the underseat storage on an Innova but plenty of people on here use Fuel Friend containers of various capacities.

Givi do a nice little 2.5 litre can for under £15, the can is fine, the spout is about a foot long and does not bend easily so I usually just pour into the tank. They will also sell you a mounting plate/rack for it to fit to a pannier for about £70 (no provision for the spout though). Obviously for BMW owners, not this one though!

Sounds good. I'm planning to ride down to Beziers in September so will have a look. Also will scour the local Lidls as they usually do a large range of scooter stuff, more than the UK. Got a pair of handlebar muffs for the Cub for 10 Euros a couple of years ago.

Givi can, can't find the spout. TBH you are better off using the flexy spout from the standard green can (in the pics for scale purposes).

Overall 10" x 4" x 7" including the filler neck and cap.

The green one is to large to go under the seat. As for the black one, it is 2 litres in size. ...if I could find something nearer 3 litres in size then that would be equivalent to a fill-up. I'd be halving the amount of petrol station visits.
I don't mind things getting warm under the seat. Can't see it getting hot enough to melt the plastic of a fuel container.

True but it might pay to allow for expansion.
