Honda NC700 750 750dct
Anybody had any experience of the nc.....dct or manual? How did/ do you find it? I like decent legroom from seat to footpegs.......worse been the ntv650 I had best been the Honda dominator/ Mz baghira. How would you compare to he cb500x or similar?
Thanks

Wuyang, I had a NC 700 as a loan big whilst my BMW was off the road. It was very frugal and went okay, just felt very strange and powered up like a car, well it is half a Honda Jazz engine. Felt the engine would have been better in a big scooter

Ive had a 700 integra, 2 nc 750x's, and a 750 integra. The NC x has the more roomiest leg position on the bikes, as its taller than the S model which I find a little cramped. If you dont mind a scoot , the integra (dct only) has 2 different leg positions. The engine is low down torquey and will give 75-80 mpg. The DCT is fantastic once you get used to it.

Cheers ...interesting, I've been watching a few YouTube videos on them. They seem very marmite......the dct does appeal to me given I suffer with my hands on and off. I'm used to automatic having the sh300 so I don think I'd find it too much of a shock.
Horrobags how's the acceleration compared to the sh300?
Cheers

the engine is the same as the Honda Integra scooter, same frame and drivetrain too (I think)fatboytours wrote: ↑Sun Feb 04, 2018 6:28 pmWuyang, I had a NC 700 as a loan big whilst my BMW was off the road. Only heard good things about them. A mate has one and loves it, he's in his seventies I think and traded in his DN01 and bought a new one in August, then, a week later bought a new SH300. He has a problem deciding which to ride.

I had two NC 750X (1. and 2. version), i also drove the S and the Integra and the X-ADV.
All featuring the same 750cc engine.
Conclusion: good engine but one has to get used to the low revs of max. 6.500 - 7.000rpm.
Strong and fast enough unless you‘re going to the race-track.
I would not buy this bikes without the great DCT !!
The DCT is a genious thing. 3 or 5 driving modi so you‘ll find the perfect setting for you.
I’d never go back to a Variomatic again!
For me 1,86m or 6ft2" tall, S and X are too small and give a uncomfortable knee angle on longer tours.
The seat position is not good at all - one always tends to slip foreward.
Right now i‘m looking for a good Integra because the scooter versions will suit my 99% city driving much better.

Re: Honda NC700 750 750dct
I can see myself getting a bike with dct in the distant future.
I tried to book the vfr1200 dct for a test ride a couple of years ago but they only had the manual available.
Hell of an engine, smooth as silk and quick.
Opened it up on the motorway and I shot from 75mph to around 128mph in the blink of an eyelid. It might have been more but I thought it more of a good idea to be looking at the road ahead rather than the speedo.
The problem was the seating position as I was sitting on it like a jockey with a lot of weight on my wrists.
The NC700 etc gets a lot of good write ups.
I wouldn't mind trying the dct but I just don't like the look of them ...
Reminds me of a fast sparrow. I can hardly look at a bike that has one of those "beaks".
Anyway, my cb1300 is a keeper. Everytime I go into the garage I keep looking at it from different angles. Yeah, we all do it.

There's an Africa Twin DCT as well isn't there?
