Anybody tried them? I tried a transalp 650 long time ago.....sold bikes back then as quick as I bought them. Just contemplating my options...

Not owened either but done lots of work on them !
transalp is a pain to work on antiquated engine with screw adjuster tappets which take hours to access (700 is better than 650)
650 also has 4 plugs one of them is a real bitch to access!
DL650 is a played with SV650 bit fragile poorly / cheaply built lot of electrical faults often broken wires in loom Digital instrument panel has a rep for failing I seen two !

Thanks for that Davebike and all the others who have replied.

Think I might eventually just get the Honda crf250l for the local roads. Still contemplating if I should sell or keep the sh300.

I have ridden a Vstrom 650, and was impressed by it, a lovely 'V' twin engine which pulls well and good tank range and fuel economy.
Try one before committing to the Honda.

Also not ridden one but absolutely agree on the SV engine. But then I would. I've been enjoying riding Tim's Gladys which has the same engine. He gets brilliant mpg when keeping pace with the Postie too. :D
