Honda Stream

Post by bikerbaker » Tue Oct 10, 2017 8:20 pm

Know there a couple on here that have these.

Taken this over today from a friend who bought it new in 1983. It has 1500 miles on it and was last taxed in 1989. Been in his bike store ever since, covered up. It did seize up apparently and my mate "investigated" it and pronounced it dead. This was to stop his wife using it (he bought it for her) as he had seen her out on it and reckoned she was dangerous!

Absolutely unmarked with V5, all the tax discs and the original advertising leaflet and handbook.
Had to make some adjustments to my Cub ramp to load it.

Newt - this brings to mind your comment on the DD/Stevew Honda scoot - ".......upholstered surgical boot". I still laugh at that!

I actually saw an Ariel 3 on the road on Sunday. It looked dangerous just riding in a straight line

Yes, they look very unsafe. I worked in London until 2009 and YoSushi had a fleet of them for deliveries. They had a canopy which looked really strange when cornered! Like a broken BMW C1.

V5 states taxation class Bicycle! Model NV50MSD Moped. So reckon it will be a 50cc bicycle when I get name changed.

Looks ideal for a trip to the loo in the middle of the night on a camp site.

I can see them falling about when I finally take it there. What have you seen?

Been cleaning it and pushing it around today, lost count of the times I have run over my toes! :D

Wasn't aware of that, don't like the look of it anyway. Might be tricky getting a legal square plate to fit without fouling the engine case. A smaller show plate will probably fit and they should be OK with that.

Looks really odd leaning!

Also has a sticker on the bars "This machine has not been specifically designed for use by disabled persons"
