Trying something different

Over the years, I've had a number of large capacity bikes, but as I get a bit older (53) I find I can no longer get comfortable for long on my old Daytona 1000. It's just gone, and next up will be my old GT750 Kwacker, still a fine tourer with its Rickman Fairing and Krauser panniers.
So what to get, I still like long distance touring and the C90, christened "Nan's bike" at the southern softies rally is a bit slow for the very long stuff. We will be going to Norfolk next year, that's some unfinished business......
Any how, I looked at what's available and settled on the CRF250 Rally. Only had it a fortnight and already clocked 1200 miles, been camping in the Peak District and a bit of local running around. What a cracking bike, comfortable enough for distance (3x 300 mile trips so far) easy real 75 to 85 mpg and holds an indicated 70 fine (really 64 according to my GPS). The screen and fairing work, keeping the worst wind and weather off me. And it's an ok traillie as well. Apart from sheer performance, I'm really impressed, I reckon this will be around for a while.
See you on the road
