Not a Vox man myself but have owned a Loncin and currently a Wave.

My take would be that at 5K there really shouldn't be anything wrong at all.
I'd be looking to see if it's ever been taken apart in any way ( it shouldn't have been) nothing should be needed in that short mileage except oil changes.
Ask him how many oil changes it has had, ideally every 1000 miles.
Check the screws that hold the plastics on, also the 8mm hex head bolts around the engine casings.
Make sure the clutch works as it's intended. Have a look at the clutch adjuster nut and screw. Has it rounded or been mullered in any way?
If the price is right and it's all unadulterated, go for it.

Peugeot bikes generally seem pretty good although Chinese. It seems that there some good Chinese manufactures out there as my HONDA Wave is also a Chinese product .

My Yamaha YBR is also built in China and it's not bad at all, although I wish it were sturdier. As mentioned, it's all about price, and for how much the bike originally cost, hard to argue with how much you get.

The YBR is built by Jianshe for Yamaha. They also make/made their own Jianshe branded bike for the UK market with a Yamaha engine. JS125-6A or suchlike.

Jianshe were originally a tank manufacturer for the state! Fun fact.

Their subsidary Tianda puts together the Lexmoto Aspire for this country, although there's very few common parts.

Jianshe also did a few models for Sinnis - their SC125 sticking in my mind particularly.

A new XT125 (YBR is not sold here at dealers) is around £1,600. I got my bike for £450 but it didn't run, needed carb and ignition work and then soon afterwards a new top end and gearbox bearings, so it was obviously in poor nick.

Jezze, Some of you people don't half ramble/rabbit on! As the owner of a Vox I think its great. The only problem is taking off the plastic bits to do the 1000 MILE services. The petrol consumption is amazing but then my average speed seems to be 28 mph. The seat is awful (just like my Innova was) but I have a blow up cushion type seat which is wonderful. I made a mud flap for the front wheel as I ride Worcestershire country lanes... where muck of all sorts is evident...NONE hits the pot head thanks to the mud flap! The chain guard is going slightly rusty but as the Vox is a near copy of the Innova no doubt a Honda one will fit. Unlike my old Honda 90 the Vox has large plastic spokes so no over winter greasing up there. I saw loads of these clones in Langwi last year on holiday, all belting along with two up and falling apart! In all, a great bike!

Plastic spokes

The mentioned 'plastic spokes' appear to be plastic, smarty pants...but are really five cast... dare I say...spokes of metal and part of the wheel. A great advance on the fully spoked wheel of the Cub with its rust prone chrome surface.....

I am still enjoying my Vox and like Bill's there is a small amount of rust on the chain guard case but that's normal when like me you live by the sea. The only problem I have is that the top box fitted when I bought the bike is broken so I need a small cheap one to replace it. Any ideas folks?
