The Groms cruise at an indicated 55 which is more like 50mph. Mark's is a little quicker - maybe the exhaust, maybe that he's broken so much plastic off it on the byways! :?

The Van Van was actually fractionally quicker. Maybe only 3-4mph, but enough to close any gap. With me at the front, then Mark, then Darren on the Van Van, it all worked well riding up from Norfolk to the Peaks!

Newt and I discussed the options he had. My main concern is reliability - something which it seems the XL will offer. Also, we need it to not be the slowest on tour. Having the slowest (if not by much) at the front is always preferable. Newt on a 350 is much like me on a 125 - power to weight wise.

I can't bloody wait to go next summer! In fact, I think a separate topic about the plans and then the trip would be a good idea!

I like the idea of being able to keep up easily. Makes up for my doddery old age and piss poor riding skills. So to have a power edge is good. ;)

Yeah maybe we need to get a thread going under riding stories as a preamble to.... whatever happens!

Edit; Ah, just found 'The Thread' :D :D :D

aliengravy and Maverick came knocking today. Well sort of. They ragged their bikes around the garden until I came out to see WTF was going on!

Was I coming out to play? :? :? :? :? :?

Hmmmmm. Did I leave the bike rideable?
Apperently so, we had fun! :D

Fitted this little beauty. Had to shim the exhaust across, and reposition the chainguard. It went on, just!

It's a Mitas CO2. And I have a C19 to put on the front.

I'm sure Jim is able to charm his MoT tester into a pass for that

Just checked the TRF web site and both tyres are "E" marked, so no problems with the MOT.

Exactly! :D But too agressive for FIM approval. ;)
