I've gone and done it.
The ffox drove me to Brackley, north of Oxford to pick up a 2011 model (they stopped making them in 2012) half faired with 7700 miles.
It's a cracker. It reminds me of the cbf1000 I had but with more "grunt" . It's very comfortable and in my eyes is a stunning looker. Obviously I notice the wind hitting me a bit more after being in the cocoon of the RT but I've already ordered a taller screen, mirror extenders and heated grips. The bike is mint apart from the chippings that have attacked the aluminium engine casings in the last pic.
I needed to have a go at the downpipes with wet 'n dry and Autosol but they've come up a treat. One of the pics compares the right hand pipe with the others before being treated:

Yes, my GSX1400 came with cases much worse than that. Some "proper" Nitromors to get the lacquer off and a back-of-MCN-small-ads polishing kit consigned 'em to history. :)

The naked bike was my initial preference but the faired version has grown on me to the extent of preferring it.
