Tesco scooter possibly going free.

Post by raybarber » Tue Mar 21, 2017 11:11 am

My brother inherited a scooter from someone who bought it from Tesco and never took it out of the box. I expect it needs some TLC but he said he was just going to scrap it, so if anyone in the Trowbridge area is looking for a project then let me know and I'll see if he'll let you have it.

They did some ride-on and sit-on electric scooters a while back. All sub-15mph so not needing UK registration if I remember correctly.

No, this was a 50cc job that came in a box and you had to assemble it yourself. My brother worked in a lawn mower service shop and someone bought it in, still in the box after three years. My brother put it together and took it for its MOT. The guy in the garage said it was the first time he'd MOTd a vehicle with 5 miles on the clock.

Blimey, that must have been some time ago, maybe 10-15 years when bikes-in-a-box started appearing regularly.

EDIT: A quick google reveals this article from 1999:-
