Handlebar weight removal
So I'm trying to remove the screw from the bar end weights on the inj innova......( to fit handguards ) they spins so grips applied and screwdriver turned. Bloody solid.....bust the first screwdriver then bust a screwdriver bit.
Don't think there seized.
Any ideas?

Re: Handlebar weight removal
Is there an expanded diagram on a spares site like Fowlers?
Those have helped me in the past see things I couldn't understand, looking from the outside.

Re: Handlebar weight removal
There is a welded captive nut inside the bars and this is what the screw threads into, they are prone to seizure as the bars are a sealed environment with moisture inside.
Your going to have to 'beast it out' to use the modern Army parlance and then re-weld in a captive thread to refit the weights.
Not an easy fix, but would have been made sooooooo much simpler had lube been used on the threads during assembly.

Re: Handlebar weight removal
Don't know about the Innova but the Wave isn't like that.
It's a long weight with rubber expanding bits at each end. Couldn't undo the long bolt that goes through but i found that if i wiggled the visible bar end with a well attached pair of moles i could feel the give as the rubber squidged. Some GT85, some persistence and some gentle encouragement with a small hammer in the outward direction got them out.

Re: Handlebar weight removal
ANF125 inova like most honda's has a separate weight rubber and a single clip mount inside the bars into which the bar end screws
