i found if you ride in winter a pair of handlebar muffs are great cheap to buy and do not hamper you when using switches

Do you have any muffs that you would recommend?
I had a pair a few years ago but they made no difference

Just got this from Honda UK;-

Thank you for your enquiry to Honda (UK) Customer Relations.
I have enquired with our technical team and they have advised me that the Shop Manual confirms the maximum current capacity for your machine (2014 Honda Wave 110i) is 11.5Amps, so there is not much capacity for accessories.
You may wish to speak to your local Honda dealer to run through the accessories you were hoping to use. They may be able to make some suggestions for you.
I hope this information helps you. Thank you again for contacting Honda (UK) Customer Relations.

We ( not really me at all, actually the others on the ride) did some rough calculations today and it looks like heated grips are possible

"Possible" wouldn't cut it for me on a bike fettled for long rides. You don't want to be pushing anything close to its limits do you?stevew wrote: We ( not really me at all, actually the others on the ride) did some rough calculations today and it looks like heated grips are possible
I'd go for other means suggested above as a way of doing without them.

And also according to Honda their small bike FI will allow starting with a flat battery.

There is no problem.
The regular Oxford heated grips have built-in low voltage protection and the Innova and Waves start first kick on a flat battery, provided they didn't run out of fuel so the fuel line is empty.
Heated grips work much better when combined with handlebar mitts, and then you can run the grips on a lower setting. Cheap grips with only high and low will find you turning up and down the whole time.
The headlight is not affected (much) by the power drawn from the battery, since it runs on the negative halfwave from the alternator.
Honda designed these bikes for third world countries where you need to get home on your own, and can't just call for assistance.

Re: Heated grips that work well on a small bike ??
On the Honda heated grips I have just fitted on the Deauville, they don't work until the voltage increases above the idle speed, totally normal according to the instructions. the lower LED dimly flashes until the bike starts.
I picked up the feed from the front brake switch live near the lever. The fuse did not need increasing, so I assume the current draw is low on them.
They work very well.
