Done about 300 miles now since the rebuild.
So far everything is going to plan and it sounds like all the other Waves i have seen and heard now ;)
The engine is almost silent and very smooth. Runs up to an indicated 60mph but i reckon that's about 55-56 real

Yet another question for the FI geniuses.
Wave is running perfect except for one small thing.

Before the strip down it could be started from cold with no throttle and would just tick over for ever if required.
Now it can be started from cold with no throttle just the same and it ticks over just the same but then it always cuts after 45 seconds (ish). Start it up again and ride it a few hundred metres and it ticks over perfectly and goes on performing great for the rest of the day.

This is my experience with the Thai and Vietnamese built Fi 110s. Often either the cap or the HT lead end seems to "go bad" very quickly. The cold start symptoms gradually start to get worse and worse, which then works it's way into seeming like a lean misfire. Drove me nuts the first time it happened to me because I immediately swapped out the fuel filter, cleaned the tank and cleaned the injector...which did nothing. Just a quick snip of the lead and cleaning out the cap is the quick solution, if that's the case.

Also with my old Fi Cub (same engine), when the battery was on it's way out I found that it wouldn't start as easily and would on occasion quit at idle. New battery obviously solved this.

Of course there's a lot more on an Fi bike to go wrong, but that's where I'd start.

Thanks AE. I'll give the lead clipping a go as that has always been a prob on normal carbed Cubs as well!!

But TBH there is no problem with starting, just this cutout after the cold start.
We will see........ :P

BTW mine was made in China !!

There's a pattern developing......

First the CG, then the Bullet and now the Wave, now what's the common denominator.....Ah yes the owner! :D :D :D :D

Unless your buying petrol from Morrisons or something...
