Wave / Innova FI extra tank capacity
Looks like I might have the chance of a cheap Honda Wave. These have fuel injection so I was wondering if there was any practical way of adding extra fuel capacity?
Had anyone seen or have experience of doing this?

Re: Wave / Innova FI extra tank capacity
I would say not many options, gravity feed from a top box tank to the original tank, would require two fittings to be welded into the original tank, one for fuel in the other used as a vent, or have someone make a custom tank that uses all the space under the seat, would mean that the petrol tank would need removing to get the battery out ???.

That's what I thought so was sort of hoping there may be a "magic" answer.onittino3 wrote:I would say not many options, gravity feed from a top box tank to the original tank, would require two fittings to be welded into the original tank, one for fuel in the other used as a vent, or have someone make a custom tank that uses all the space under the seat, would mean that the petrol tank would need removing to get the battery out ???.
Didn't realise the battery was under there

I think the Wave would be an ideal modern cub tourer, if only it had a better tank range, now you could just carry a jerry can, but that's a pain in the a*se if you've got stuff strapped down across the seat.
When i was considering one I did think about a custom tank in a top box which could use a second wave fuel pump, tee"ed into the original fuel line, both fuel lines would have to have non return valves, and then splice a two way switch into the wiring harness so you can switch between 2 fuel pumps, at the time you could pick up a used pump for around £50 not sure if this would work though.

And still a CG125 wins on a practical touring score......
I've toured all over the UK and Europe on C90's and ANF's but a 125 motorcycle still makes more sense.
But when did sensible win when it comes to Brits?

Back to the original query, is the fuel pump inside the tank or fitted to it? Or is it separate and fed by a pipe?
