My new scooter - Innova 125
I've just bought a 2012 Innova 125 to be carried on the back of my motor home.
It will be used mostly for short to medium distance rides, two up.
We went for a spin on it and it was great fun, I thought fourth gear was too high for the two of us though.
I've ordered a 13t front sprocket and a set of rear shocks from a low mileage 2015 CBF125.
Before this I had a Honda Vision 110, it was a mint little bike but it would only pull 45mpg with the two of us on it, the suspension wasn't that great either, you could really feel every little pot hole.
The Innova seems to have much better suspension and feels more like a motorbike to ride than a scooter.
Has anybody changed their gear lever for one from a pit bike?
Does the 13t front sprocket work well for two up riding.
Has anybody used the CBF rear shocks?

An Innova is not a scooter. It's an underbone or a CUB - Cheap Urban Bike

Re: My new scooter - Innova 125
Copied from Innova suspension upgrade ideas in the search box top right :-
I fitted a set of 340mm eye to eye but you may have to swap over shims and bushes as quoted ! ! I got mine from Startrights of Leeds @ £45 ! ! just have to watch for the chain cover it is very tight so I fitted a small washer between the swigarm and chain cove for another couple of mm clearance ! ! just beware if you fit an extended bolt for this it may catch on the sprocket carrier bolt's ! ! ask me hou I know ! ! They do make a big improvement if you ride pillion or lots of luggage and stop it from skipping and bottoming out ! !
Also note it is more timely taking all the panels off totally from front end to the rear off the bike and then refitting than it is to fit the new shocks ! ! especially if panel screws/bolts have not been off and lubed before ?
I have also fitted various sprockets combinations both front and rear but always reverted back to stock items , just hold in third gear a little longer .
Cheers Vk. .

Re: My new scooter - Innova 125
i dont want to pop any ideas in your head, but if you want to give the innova some more pep, ive just bought a 150cc big bore kit and a sports cam for mine, also destined for the back of my camper van, ive also fitted it with trials tyres, and ive just recieved a sports exhaust and a 26mm carb and filter kit. you can bore them upto 180cc and theres a firm in the far east that sells four valve heads for them.so, if you want to use the innova 2 up, perhaps goiving it a few performance boosts instead of upping the gearing.
oh, ive also got yoshimura shocks on it!

Injection Innova's use a different cylinder than the earlier carburetor version.
143 CC is the largest kit which doesn't need machining of the crankcase.
I'd like a bit more oomph for mine as well, but it's going so well at 29.000 km that I'm not ready to mess with things which don't need fixing.

I fitted the CBF125 rear shocks yesterday, it's a really easy job but did need to swap the rubber bushes over from the original shocks.
It only took a matter of minutes, bushes pretty much fell out with some WD40 and a small tap with a socket and hammer, perfect length and width yet a much beefier spring and also looks better quality too.

£5 pit bike gear lever works a treat and is so much easier to use.Capitano wrote:Welcome Gord.
