Hi Rob, I got the logbook back and it does indeed say it's a R80 RT TIC. I ordered the carb seals for it, and Motorworks took some details, and the VIN.
They said it's not shown as an ex cop bike. No idea what difference that makes!

God knows , as far as I'm aware there's no difference to the mechanical side compared to any other r80 of the same period.

Re: At last, a Beemer that i like !!
They did utterly confuse me, by saying that if it WAS ex cop, I may get different unexpected parts. But I didn't enquire what, too much to take in for now!
Very much looking forward to sorting it though. When I went out and took the covers off, I was surprised and delighted at it's condition.
What's more, I think there's only around 3k on the speedo. The seller said he didn't think it genuine.
If the wheels are anything to go by, it could be.
It's a mystery!

you can go onyo the govts website, (or the dvla site) and it will give you details of the last few mot certs, hopefully showing mileage.
ex plod bikes tend to have new seats, plod spec bikes have a solo saddle so they tend to have new dual seats fited when they are sold on. and usually completely unused or unworn pillion pegs, they also tend to have high output alternators as well as meteoric mileages, but theyre well maintained so thats seldom an issue. they will also have holes drilled in fairing and tailpiece panels to fit lights sirens etc.

Thanks John. I'll have a good look over it. No MOT data available, it was stored in a workshop, last 7 years I believe.
