That's the hammer.
Just wondering if anyone had been in the same situation. I'll almost certainly walk in and hand him a photocopy of the bill and ask him how he intends to pay. I'll include my sort code and account number and then wait a week. If payment not forthcoming then I'll post a reminder and then, regrettably if no joy, take legal action.

Yup. He's either got to raise his game, or stop taking on such work.

Old adage, pay peanuts, get monkeys. ;) Maybe should've gone to BMW with it? :P

Certainly would have preserved some of your life force, if not your cash. :|

Creep up on him and post it into any available orifice especially when he's bending down, that should do the trick.

My low pressure warning came on yesterday and found a very small nail in the centre of the rear wheel.
After your experience I have booked it into my "local" BMW dealer who is 30 miles away.

Better safe than Surrey. :D

Good man, Chris.
If you're 100% sure with local garages you know then go for it, but once bitten twice shy.
I'll never take a gamble again. My rear tyre needs changing and I shall almost certainly be taking it to BMW Riders in Cardiff or Thunderroad in Bridgend.
Peace of mind for £10 or £20 more. For me it's worth it.
Have had one of those thumb twiddling moments over the last week or two where I've thought of changing to a Pan European all due to boredom, not riding over the winter, browsing through motorcycle mags and thinking of a change just for the hell of it. But, I've come back to my senses. The RT is brilliant. It's staying.

Good to hear that.

I am convinced that I made the right choice. All of the apprehensions I had in the first weeks of owning it have now gone. The seat has "worn in, it runs a lot smoother (twas very rough and snatchy). Tis a pleasure to ride, borne out by the fact that I have now racked up 4,500 on it in 5 months.

First service due in 1500 so will see today whether I take it to Cannons in Braintree. The Sales Manager there was very honest when I was thinking of buying new from them or the 9 month old example (136 miles!) from Vines of Guidford. He told me to go grab that one while it was available!

Will see if the Service dept matches up.

After the problem, you may recall, of me going to a local garage and getting my front wheel "chewed" up on a tyre change, I have since bought a Pilot 4 from Oponeo for £114 for the rear and needed someone to fit it.
Neither J T Motorcycles ( Yamaha) or Thunderroad (Honda) in Bridgend would touch it as it was a BMW and were concerned about the tyre sensor. Riders BMW wanted £49.98 to fit it, which was half an hour's labour. Load of b******s.
So I browsed the net and found this guy, Chris:

I had to wait three days before he could book me in but it was worth it. He texted to say the exact time he'd be arriving. You could tell he cared about what he was doing by the cleanliness inside his van, alone.
£25 included balancing and he also fitted the exhaust back on and the heat shield.
He track races and knows his bikes.
The only downside is he only operates within a 40 or 50 mile radius of Cardiff. Just wondering if there are similar services around the country for those of you with bigger bikes.
I appreciate that local garages may do it for a tenner but this guy is motorcycle specific with his machinery far gentler on the wheel, plus my bike wasn't off the road for a month like last time!
