Not long had my Innova and noticed that when ign is turned on the back light comes on.Is this normal and lights come on with ignition.Or is there a light switch somewhere? Brake lights work as normal.-----Answers on a postcard!

What year is it?

Does the front come on too ? Check with the engine running.
Lots of modern bikes do not have a light switch....(euro laws)..............to create mandatory daylight running lights.

There are plenty of Innova users on here so others will be able to be more specific.

BTW why not pop your location in your profile so peeps know where you are, never know Innova knowledge could be just round the corner :o

Hi Ultima

I've got a 2009 Innova and yes my getting and rear lights are on when running. I suspect yours is designed to be that way also. Any 2006 owners out there can confirm that :?:

Cheers

The Innova's headlight only gets its power from the alternator and has no influence on the battery charging (And why would anyone want to make themselves invisible by turning off the headlight?).

It is quite unusual in another way: The charging system doesn't have a full-wave rectifier which leads everything to the battery, but rather two half-wave rectifiers, where the positive wave charges the battery, and the negative wave goes to the headlight lamp.
The headlight lamp is supplied with minus 12V towards ground, so you can measure around 24V between the supply lead and the positive pole of the battery.

The h/lamp only comes on with engine running so am happy with that.My deauville h/lamp came on when ign was turned on-quickly draining the battery! Thats why I fitted a switch to turn h/lamp off when starting it up.Thanks all for replies-some things seem so obvious when explained by someone----Reguards Chris.
