Getting a V5 log book

Post by DGBland » Mon Sep 05, 2016 12:08 pm

I have the chance of a 1974 honda cb125 which is in need of a complete restoration. I am getting the bike for nothing but it has no V5. Would i need to contact a Honda club to verify the frame number and how would i be able tell if the bike may have previously been stolen in the past?

HPI check for the bikes history check, for stolen, finance etc.
If all comes out clean you fill in a form with the registration & frame number, then send it with your money to dvla.
Can't remember the form number but the .gov site as all the answers.

V62 is the form, as stated above, take pictures, bike, frame number, and hopefully reg plate, send a brief letter explaining when and where you got it and obviously the form and payment and you should be fine .If you don't have a reg plate with it ,it can be more of a task .Good luck.
