Someone has used a sealant in the past.
Make sure you look at the pump impeller.

Pump impeller is in good nick. There is no residue or anything foreign in the pump housing. Impellers are made of steel and these water pumps on those Transalps are known to be bulletproof. Nothing to indicate that the water pump sustained any damage at all. Will thoroughly inspect it before bolting it back on the bike. Ordered new O-Rings for it as well.Diesel Dave wrote:Someone has used a sealant in the past.

The only intervention on that radiator was when it was welded. I have this bike from new and the rad failed on me 1 year and a few months ago. Sent it to some guys in Bedford and it was welded. It worked fine afterwards, think it must have broken down the radweld in time and it clogged the radiator. How should I remove this? I've left it filled with bleach overnight. Should I use the remaining rad flush that I have laying around? Brick acid? I'm sure that the bleach won't do much in braking down whatever clogged channels are in the rad.

I've never managed to remove radiator sealants in the past - always needed a new radiator.
I've had guys turn up asking for help after using:
1) Eggs (yes really)
2) Radweld
3) Fernox (for domestic heating radiators)
4) Porridge oats
5) Silicone
6) Fibregel (constipation relief)
If it was mine George I'd put it back together and see how it runs now that lump has been spat out, if it still gets too hot then cast your thermometer on the radiators and find the hottest and replace that one first.

There's only one problem with replacing these...:Diesel Dave wrote:I've never managed to remove radiator sealants in the past - always needed a new radiator.

I will get rad flush in there and leave it overnight. Neutralise it the next day and go from there.

Ouch....
More then half the price of my van...
Just a bit less then a new engine for the Enfield.
The same price as my CG125
More then my Foresight 250 is worth

They won't fit. They need mods in order to fit them.

Look see if you can see though the rad finning externally blocked rads are a common problem either though careless cleaning or just plain road dirt !
