Been turning the Varadero into what I need in a bike, so I've made quite a few changes

On way to collect Panniers

How it is now

Managed to find a NOS Honda Touring screen kit in Germany after buying a Skidmarx on that was way too low :x

Honda original accessories:
NOS Honda Under cowl 08F71-KPC-801,
Main stand 08M50-KPC-801,
NOS Top and Low fairing deflector set 08P73-KPC-800, waiting for warmer weather to fit so the fairings are warm so the glue sticks better.
NOS Touring screen 08R80-KPC-801
"floating system" top box sub carrier 08Z51-KPC-A00.

Aftermarket
Touratech Hand protectors GD *Open* Universal for Enduro black.
CNC Short Adjustable brake and Clutch Levers.
R&G Honda bar weights/sliders.
Oxford Touring Grips,
Bagster black tank cover with SW-Motech Drybag 80.
SW-Motech Crashbars.
Rubber fork gaiters.
Pyramid Plastics Fenda Extenda.
Side stand extender foot.
Givi Monokey universal plate and Outback Trekker 58L top box, PL173 Pannier rack and Trekker 33N cases.

Airbox drain extended due to condensation collecting in oil breather emulsifying the oil.
NGK CR9EHIX plugs fitted.
Scottoiler E System.
Bridgestone BT45 Battlax front tyre, Metzeler Tourance rear tyre.

Motobat AGM battery
2x 30W Bi Xenon HID kits
LED stop tail bulb fitted
Hope District+ LED fog light attached to rear rack.

Main loom untaped and resleveed with braided nylon and Cat 1 alarm/immobiliser built into the loom, extra power wires added for GPS, Aux lighting and DIN power socket.

Garmin Zumo 390LM with Touratech locking mount, TPMS valve caps, GTM traffic cable with USB connector modified to work with Zumo cradle.
Garmin Virb Elite front facing camera with ram mount, Virb rear facing camera in dive case, both cameras are controlled by the Zumo 390.

Tank replaced due to rust, and pinholes from being left full for over 2 years. Forks replaced due to failed seals and pitted stanchions. Air box replaced due to seized, rusted screws and cracked lid. Carb rebuilt twice, 1st due to blocked jets, 2nd due to rusty sediment blocking bowl drains before tank was replaced.

I have a set of spare wheels - thinking road tyres such as BT45 on one set and trail tyres on other set. I was looking for "winter" or M+S tyres but the front is hard to find.

Going to attempt to fit the air filter/housing from the VT125 Shadow, it will make it easier to service as I won't need to remove the tank to inspect/clean/replace the air filter.

After a full stainless exhaust system.

I have a Triumph rear shock to fit.

I also have an early left hand switch to fit so I can switch the HID headlight off, so when ignition is on but the engine isn't running it wont drain the battery. I've stripped cleaned and re-greased the switch so It will work better.

Fancy some crash bar mounted aux lights, I have some old Hope Vision 10W HID lamps I'm going to try.

Could do with Heated grips (R&G probably) and better mirrors: thinking Double take ADV or KTM 1190 Adv.

Got a new chain and sprockets to fit at the weekend.

Rode down to Hull last weekend to pick up some Givi panniers ~200 mile round trip but they'll come in handy for the rally season. Can't attend the Dragon Rally as the Mad Axemen rally is on in Durham that weekend.

 The L's will be coming off soon hopefully.

People keep asking why it has L's as surely it's not a 125.

I was going to upgrade to an old XRV650 Africa Twin or Transalp when I do my direct access, but the Varadero is a cracking little bike and I don't mind putting miles on it.

Still got 2 and a bit 90s the '96 red one will be getting tidied up, new cam chain the a fresh MOT and up for sale in the spring when I get round to doing the cam chain.

I'll probably keep the yellow '00 and the black 86 is a long term project that needs some work (inner rear arch needs repair panels and bottom end knocks)

Went to the Mad Axeman rally last weekend

Added the hand guard spoilers and R&G heater grips which have made a huge difference to comfort

I was in the car on the A1 today and ended up following a Varadero 125 at a steady 70mph for about 5 miles. Impressive stuff for a 125.
