Tell you what, i wouldn't buy yet. Remember that Honley 250 adventure bike? Went down by £500 after a while cos it was initially overpriced

XBR based motor.....
Tried an XBR a few years back an wasnt right impressed with it... wasnt much better than my RS250 in terms of poke an 'get up n go'....
Its alot of money for rather dated tackle

Looks nice but in my opinion seriously over priced.
You can buy a new "Japanese" car for under 6 grand:

Prefer something "European" for 4 quid less?

I reckon £1999 for that little bike, would be about the right price in my mind.
I have seen some comedy pricing for both new and used Chinese bikes of late - people must be buying into paying lots of money for over-priced goods I guess

just because a French company have employed a far Eastern factory to build their bike doesn't mean it is cheap and nasty. My Spector Bass was built in Korea in 1990 and it is first quality, so much so that I sold the German built and essentially identical Warwick Streamer I had at the same time as the Korean instrument was better.
Chinese built stuff is fine as long as the specifications are laid down and adhered to. Remember, most crap from there is crap because a European importer has picked up the cheapest lookalike product from a factory and figured he could flog it to Europeans and make a profit. Getting a Chinese factory to build something to your specifications is a different matter entirely, as anyone who has seen some of their high end Hi Fi will know.

I hear what you are saying of course but lets be honest the cost of a motorcycle or car is very low to manufacture in the first place, when you throw in Chinese labour rates it should be significantly cheaper anyway.
Don't forget you can buy a brand new Honda CD70 for around £460 in Pakistan and it comes with a 2 year factory warranty.
The Riders Cubs are only £200 quid each, new from the factory if you buy 20 or 25 at a time and fill a container

absolutely, what we are saying is, its cheap to get things built there...not that's its crap....
imo, theres someone being greedy here, and pricing high because of the jap prices etc.
makers like this will get no where until they price realistically to sell the first few thousand to prove reliability,
its ok saying its got this, its got that, it must be good,
also road tests are short term, and often based on what goodies the tester gets from the firm,
the bike needs to be PROVED by the public,,,,,,,
I remember the rave "its a Honda it must be reliable"road tests of the cx500 and vf750, look what happened there............
even big firms acknowledge this now,
especially Honda,,,,,
2500 to 2.800 quid absolute MAXIMUM,, but oughta be less
and I bet they would sell quite a few and make good profit

i had both too, but found the 500 miles better in terms of ride ability, more torque etc,TimeBandit wrote:XBR based motor.....

the 250 was gutless, and a good 20mph slower
perhaps i had a good 500 and you got a good 250, lol
