Tried an XBR a few years back an wasnt right impressed with it... wasnt much better than my RS250 in terms of poke an 'get up n go'....
Its alot of money for rather dated tackle
i had both too, but found the 500 miles better in terms of ride ability, more torque etc,
the 250 was gutless, and a good 20mph slower
perhaps i had a good 500 and you got a good 250, lol
I thought my 250 was pretty good, but I do recall the 'ultimate' hybrid of a CB250RS with a 500 Ascot lump in it...Always thought that would be nice.

That new single is claiming nearly the same power as the old SR500 but with a revvier engine and a tad less weight and my SR was a more than adequate back lane thrasher

Nice looking bike, I like the simplicity, like the EFI though I do wonder if its Seimans or Siemans EFI, gotta watch these people. ;)

I had an RD400 and have an XV535, both rarely pull to a ton, and only with a lot of road in favourable conditions, so 90 sounds very respectable to me from a single. The 535 can return as little as 30mpg. I think my RD did around 42 mpg but it was long ago and I can't be sure.

70mpg sounds nice, but I wonder what the figure would be at a steady 70mph? In a headwind with a pillion?

ANd I agree, as a collection of CHinese parts, however specified they are, it's too much money.

It`s a nice looking machine but you could buy a load of very tidy Suzuki GN250`s for that much and get between 80 and 90mpg and 70mph all day long or 102 mpg if you ride like an old person at no more than 55mph ...

Hey, i was there too !! Saw the Mash 400 too.................was really nice but for me to like it "a lot" it's going to have to have luggage and other practical stuff available. Seems to be the prob with Chinese stuff ATM, in that there is so much out there and no-one knows what will stand the test of time that no after market luggage/ accessory company will invest time and money in suitable production.

Need to know all about the test ride Barker ;) ;)
