Not trying to be funny, but it's worth what you or indeed anyone else is willing to pay for it. It depends on how much you want one. Having said that it seems a tad expensive.

Bogger.......who knows nowt about everything

Yeah thats true,I don't think its worth 800 either
I was kind of hoping someone on here might have one
I don't really think its worth for than £500,although a slightly worse one went for just over £500 on eBay

It was the chaps dads bike so I think a bit of sentimental value
The big white fibreglass fairing is a bit mad and I've looked at. a few Google image restored ones and they look great
Like the idea of a c90 engine with gears,if I get it I will post a few pics of it

I've got one, on the road, completely original, If I were to sell it £800-£850 would hit the spot! :D

You can pick them up for about £450 if you work hard at it, but expect to have to spend a lot of time and money to get them roadworthy.

MOT and documentation, if it has none, will cost you pennies off £85.

I've seen the heat guard from the front of the exhaust make £70. The front down pipes are rare as hen's teeth, I waited over 6 months for one to come up, and the far eastern one I bought simply wouldn't fit. And then I gave about £40 for it.

Look the bike over and make a list of what will need replacing. Often, it becomes apparent that NOTHING is any good! Spokes, rims, tyres & tubes are often shot, Side panels cracked or missing, Mudguards split, lighting broken or missing, bars bent, forks bent, levers broken or missing, incomplete switch gear, wiring eaten by mice, engines seized, it all adds up. It really pays to start at the front and work to the back listing what will stay and what will go. Then what's it worth, to you?

If you want the kudos and pleasure of riding a 50 year old Jap machine, you have to pay for it. :D

Hiya
Thanks for that
Well it kicks over with good compression ,will need a fuel tank and carb clean out Set of ,tyres, seat cover
Nothing seems seized, the throttle cable is a bit sticky
Apart from the missing side panel its complete, was in use until it was pushed in the garage in 1984
The rest of the things it will need are cosmetic, front wheel is the worst but useable
The frame is rot free, switchgear and exhaust are OK
I've offered him £500 and will wait and see,I get the idea he thinks its worth a bit more than that

Sounds about right at £500. Is the exhaust good? I wouldn't offer more, TBH.

The exhaust is ok i think ,could only see it by looking over the seat, its chrome isnt perfect but its not rotted out
I think the white fairing is a period avon one with the indicators mounted on it

Its probably not actually worth £500 for what its going to cost to fix up , if yours is half decent and only worth £850 >?

but I would like to do it as its a cool looking bike and all there no missing parts

Like a lot of these old bikes, you're not likely to get back what you spend on them, and if you take your time into account, well.....

The joy is in riding something unusual. :D :D :D

Obviously having a hard time 'knocking it on', ignore what he wants for it, offer what you want to p[ay for it
