Honda 250 Nighthawk wheel swop?
The alloy wheels on my trusty old work-horse police spec 250 nighthawk are becoming seriously corroded around the rims making it nessacerry to fit tubes to maintain tyre pressure. What I would like to know is would the wheels from a CDu 250 fit as I prefer spokey wheels for ease of roadside repairs.

DC5U rear wheel were well known for sprocket mounting failure rusty rims etc
I would use a power wire brush to get all yes ALL the powder coat of the inside of the wheel them paint with bead seal
Refit a new valve using silicon gasket sealer and refit the tyre using bead seal
Yes seen this a lot with European made powder coated wheels as used on some Honda's Vespa etc

Or live with the tubes? thanks Dave

Mind you, tubes are not that happy with corrosion around. I'd get a good wire brush and some ACF 50 for the next time the tyre comes off...The ACF 50 will kill that alloy corrosionBiker Paul wrote:Or live with the tubes? thanks Dave
