See this thread i made.

You may have to grind the two stubs off the frame to fit the cub bracket if the cub seat doesn't fit with your bracket.
I dont have a riders seat bracket to try,but if you post a photo of your bracket with the seat up should have a better idea if it will fit.

Looking at your link it makes me think I should be stripping the bike down and applying some undercoat to the bike at some point, before any surface rust sets in!

Either that or a good coating of ACF 50 or suchlike?

Better now than trying to weld the rust up later.

Have you applied anything to your frame that you would recommend?

I only use it on fair weather days generally (unless I get caught in a shower) and never in the winter so it "should" be good as is really.

Used zinc oxide paint and seam sealer then painted it.
May put some stonechip stuff under the backend later.

Need to crack on with this one as i want it out of the way to get on with rebuilding two of my own cubs.

After having the frame stripped I sealed the seams with Tiger seal and painted the underside with 2 coats of Galvafroid which is a cold galvanising paint. Next was 2 coats of red oxide followed by primer and finished colour which is Traffic Red from Monstercolours in Glasgow.

Yesterday, after I'd reached the max on the adjusters.. I conceded that my original Riders Cub chain-of-cheese
has stretched its last.. lasted ~ 12000 kms

That's not too drastic I guess. What will you be replacing it with?

Has anyone ever galvanised (Dipped in molten Zinc) a cub frame? It's very common with Landrover owners as the chassis being steel rots away if not adequately protected, usually from the inside out! Would certainly extend the life of a frame on a Cub.
