Especially doesn't like being started after a while in cold weather...

( as I found out yesterday )

Beginning to really hate the poor quality switch gear.. another morning dismantling the headset & soldering beckons..

Removing the egr used to be a tune up tip.
I'm sure the bike came with a blanking plate to remove it - will put that on the "to-do" list...

No, it's EGR, got a Riders exhaust on my Honda Cub, definitely no cat in it, £25.53 new from Riders of Yeovil last year when they were selling off stock at half price before outing what was left as a job lot. Fits perfectly, has no detrimental effect on performance, if anything it seems a fraction quicker off the mark. Rode all through winter on salted roads, chrome still perfect! :D
The same exhaust from the breakers that bought the job lot is £90...

Mine still seems to be in decent nick, just need to get some replacement screws to re-attache the chrome trim. Bloddy screws were rattled out... :?

Was there any difference in dimensions between your Honda Cub exhaust and the Rider's version?

I wouldn't mind one of those early 70's style units on my Super Cub...like this one:

The simple answer is use it more often! Fuel may have deteriorated sitting around as well. :D

I would start it regularly if I was always at home, I work away a lot of the time.

Could always get a pal to fire it up every other week of course.

You can get the switches on Aliexpress I think? Cheap as chips from what I remember?

Like this sort of thing - there's also push buttons too:

Might be an idea to get the handlebar arrangement from the Kayak variant which has the proper switch-gear like the Honda?

I used countersunk Allen bolts on mine as the heat shield lost one screw and the other came loose. Right pain in the arse when it happened, as the shield dropped and jammed the brake pedal on as I stopped at a busy roundabout in the morning rush hour taking my daughter to school in Exeter! The Riders exhaust was exactly the same as a Honda one, fitted perfectly without any kind of fiddling about, unlike many of the pattern 90 exhausts on the market. :D

I got a pack of dome headed allen bolts for the trim but the bloody things started vibrating out again.

Will try some Loctite on them once I locate them again....

Did you need to Loctite yours as well?

Wahey ! Passed the MOT, with some rather exotic soldering going on behind the lighting switch..

Bad year for Riders cub that one.. at 10000 kms

Garage toolkit fell on it.. snapped off the indicator switch.
Horn button took a fancy to free flight one day.. never seen again.
Speedo gear reverted to cheese.
Wind blew bike over.. snapped the light switch, sheared some headset mountings.. small crack in faring..
Replaced front tyre & tube.
New light switch needed a few 'tweaks' to work..

All fixed now.. God bless Milliput, Ebay , cable ties, Wayoxyl & ACF50

Commuting 20 miles daily..

It's not doing bad for what was essentially a US$298 bike in China :)

Hi there,

I've got a Rider Super Cub, which is now showing 2200km.
Having read the forum, I understand that the front brake shoes are not common with the C90.
What are the options for buying spare brake shoes? Has anyone found an equivalent on ebay?
Finally, how long do the shoes normally last?

Thanks
